Does your Portie fly through the air with the greatest of ease? Have you thought about channeling some of that enthusiasm into a exciting dog sport? It's hard to say who has more fun at agility, the dogs or the people.Agility is a fast growing dog performance event. Dogs learn to navigate jumps, an A-frame, teeter-totter, tunnels, chutes, and a dogwalk (like a catwalk, but better). You'll see dogs weaving through a set of 12 poles in a slalom then tearing off to the next obstacle. It is exciting and fun. The best part is that each course is completely different, so there is a lot of strategy and skill in directing your dog through the designated course. This really is a team event, and develops a strong bond between handler and dog. Whether you are just thinking about trying agility or have been trialing with your Portie for years, the PNWPWDC Agility Fun Day is for you. We'll have two separate sessions, one for experienced dogs and one for newbies. |

The club calendar of events for 2008 is coming together! A grooming seminar is in the works for sometime in the spring, followed by a picnic/play day at the Tangen's lake house in the early summer. Water training and competitions dates are set and judges have been hired. See the calendar for more details. We are also planning a supported entry to be held in conjunction with the Sammamish Kennel Club weekend in August--details as they are available. The year will close out with the Holiday Party in early December. Stay tuned here for more information. To volunteer to help at any of these events or to add an event to our calendar contact the club President -
